Bursar Update - September 2024
Dear colleagues,
I am writing to you to provide you with an update on the Finance Transformation programme (FinPOST).
Over the summer months, significant progress has been made in the programme. The initial stages of building our new Workday system is complete and we have recently successfully finished the first phase of testing. Further rounds of building, developing and testing will happen over the coming weeks. The significant work in building the system will end in December 2024, we then move to user acceptance testing in January 2025.
Our go-live date is April 2025
Workday will bring real change to all financial activities including general tasks such as raising an expense claim, purchasing and requisitioning. This means we will all need to learn how our new processes will function in Workday.
To support you, we are developing a training programme that will meet the needs of everyone in the community. There will be options for you to attend face to face training, live online classes or self-paced online learning to learn about the specific processes that are changing for you.
We will update you on dates and venues for training in the new year.
FinPOST Workday Highlight Series
Before our official training programme, we will be releasing our FinPOST Workday Highlight series. This series will give an overview of what to expect in our new system. The series is available on our website.
FinPOST in Focus
You can also stay up to date with FinPOST via our FinPOST in Focus video series. These are short videos issued on Workvivo and our website every 2 weeks, providing insights and updates about the programme.
The progress achieved to date on FinPOST is significant, I extend my thanks to all within the programme team, the Finance Office and those in our wider community who have helped us get to this point.
