Dear colleague,
Tomorrow we will see the launch across UCD of our new finance system Workday, moving from a 1990s system to a world-class system used by thousands of large organisations.
The new system will provide real-time financial data and streamlined processes that will support robust financial governance and inform decision-making and strategic planning. It will support our financial resilience and in most cases make day-to-day tasks much simpler to carry out. As we develop a stronger understanding of the functionality of Workday and as that functionality expands, we will be able to adopt new features on an ongoing basis.
This transformation programme represents a significant milestone in our strategic ambition to transform and modernise campus systems and improve the experience of faculty, staff and students.
We know that it will take time to get used to the new system, and we also know that in a project as complex as this one we are likely to identify issues requiring resolution once we go live. There will undoubtedly be a transition period as we address those issues and arrive at a settled understanding of how best to use the power of the Workday system.
The University Management Team and Finance leadership team appreciate your goodwill, patience and assistance as we work through this change together.
