Abstract:

Classes of functions between finite fields, such as permutation polynomials, planar polynomials, and perfectly nonlinear polynomials, have applications to problems in finite geometry, cryptography and combinatorics. We will survey some recent classification results on these polynomials. All joint work with Fernando Hernando, and some with Francisco Monserrat.
