Abstract:
The distribution of matrices over finite fields with respect to various properties such as rank, characteristic polynomial, singularity and some other properties are very well understood. In this talk we will present new results concerning the distribution of matrices with restricted entries, matrices with repeated eigenvalues and matrices satisfying matrix-vector equations. This talk is based on separate joint works with Rod Gow and Igor Shparlinski.
