Title: | Four Weddings and a Funeral with the UCD Philharmonic Choir |
---|---|
Date: | 28th November, 2007 |
Venue: | Our Lady, Seat of Wisdom, Belfield Church |
Time: | 6.30pm |
We would like to invite all students and staff the first concert of the UCD Philharmonic Choir, presented by the UCD School of Music. The Choir will perform four pieces suitable for weddings by Bach, Duruflé, Walton and Whitacre in addition to Fauré’s Requiem. It will be accompanied by organ and string ensemble, conducted by Thomas Kehoe.
The choir is a new initiative undertaken by the UCD School of Music, which offers staff and students an opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of the choral repertory. The choir gathers its members from across the entire UCD Community in weekly rehearsals during the academic year. It includes undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral research students and alumni. Choir members come from every part of the university, including the main Belfield campus, the Carysfort campus, Roebuck (Law) and Richview (Architecture). There is every chance you will recognise someone that you know at the performance, and we do hope that you will support this new choir.
Admission: €10 (concessions €7)
