First Year Undergraduate Orientation 2009
It is very important that you attend Orientation as there will be a series of events to prepare you for life in UCD. Some of the many important events include Student Card collection, Advisory meeting, Library tours, IT induction courses and the President's welcome.
Undergraduate first year orientation
Undergraduate first year orientation will take place from 31 August to 4 September 2009 and is compulsory for first year students. Please note not all first year students start on Monday 31st August, it is vital that you check your orientation timetable to establish the start date for your programme. Graduate Orientation
Graduate students, your school will engage with you specifically in relation to programme orientation. There will also be orientation events held specifically for graduates in some of the graduate schools. Graduate Studies website
International Students Orientation
Moving to a different country for college is an exciting and rewarding experience. International Student Orientation starts off on 2 September 2009 with the International Student Welcome and Information Fair. Orientation sessions will provide practical information on studying at UCD and making the transition to life in Ireland. There will also be plenty of opportunities for students to meet and engage with fellow international students.
Mature Student Orientation Day - Saturday, 29 August 2009
The Mature Student Adviser’s Office offers this half-day Orientation programme for mature students to give you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with UCD and all it has to offer before you begin your academic career.
This Orientation Day will showcase the different student services available to you, allow you to become familiar with the campus before the beginning of term, have a question and answer session with current Mature Students regarding their academic and social experiences on campus and meet UCD staff and other entering 1st year Mature Students.
The programme of events will begin at 9.30am in Theatre P of the Newman (Arts) Building. Please bring your questions, concerns or comments with you and we will endeavour to address and answer them all. We look forward to seeing you then.
Irish Language Student Residence Scheme Orientation
Bord na Gaeilge will offer this two day orientation programme for the 24 scholarship students on the 2009-2010 Irish Language Residence Scheme. Read more...
Social Events
There will also be many social events, some related to the course you are beginning and other events open to all students such as the Orientation BBQ and the Fresher’s Ball. This will give you a great opportunity to meet many new friends so it is well worth attending. Click on the Social Events tab at the top to see what’s happening during orientation.
