Sustainable Agriculture

UCD conducts world-class interdisciplinary research in areas of strategic importance such as genetics for breeding, life-cycle analysis, farming systems and crop technology. Our researchers are working to meet the challenge of increasing global food supply with greater resource-use efficiency, while preserving diverse and natural ecosystems and viable rural communities.

Home to Ireland’s only university teaching and research farm, UCD provides on-farm facilities to support over €20 million in research grants and infrastructure for graduate research at the 250 hectare Lyons Farm.
