TB Testing

Test for Tuberculosis (TB) status 

Tuberculosis (TB) testing for incoming Health Science students is required to exclude the possibility of Latent TB as part of the Occupational Health Screening at UCD. TB testing carried out within the last two years, prior to entry into UCD is accepted.

  • Your TB test must have been done within the last 2 years. 
  • The date of the test must be legible on the test result.
  • We accept evidence of either  IGRA TB blood test OR Mantoux/Tuberculin Skin Test (TST).
  • Quantiferon Gold and T-Spot TB blood test results should be in the form of a laboratory report.

  • Mantoux test results must be recorded in millimeters (example: 2mm) rather than Positive or Negative. 
  • Handwritten, incorrectly recorded  and illegible results will not be accepted and students will require an IGRA test.
  • We will only accept documentation of the result on your clinic’s headed paper.  

Quantiferon TB testing is available in the UCD Student Health Service for students who require it.  

The charge for IGRA TB testing is €125.00
