STI screening is available here in the UCD Student Health Service. It is by appointment, you can book by contacting us on 01 716 3134. We offer 2 types of appointments, depending on whether you have any symptoms of an STI or not.

Please ask reception for an urgent, same-day appointment if your symptoms are painful ie. blisters, pain in the vagina or genital area of recent onset.

This service is a Sexual health service available 24/7. Free STI test kit, results in 7 days. Confidential testing, information, and advice in Ireland, in partnership with HSE.

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis)
- From early 2026 we are delighted to announce we are able to provide PrEP consultations directly. PrEP is a safe and effective daily medication (pill) for people who do not have HIV and are at high risk of infection. When taken correctly PrEP has been found to be about 99% effective.
- Please Note: There is NO charge for PrEP medication for eligible patients. PrEP medication is provided through the HSE and our doctor will register you for this service at your consultation but you will need a PPS number and (opens in a new window)Drug Payment Scheme card. There will be charges for the consultation +/- bloodwork.
