Get Involved

At UCD there are many opportunities to get involved with or initiate actions for sustainability.

There are numerous ways to engage with sustainability at UCD. These include funding opportunities, student societies and other opportunities for UCD staff and students. We would also like to hear from you if you want to get involved, seek advice or work with us towards sustainability - for example as a research/education organisation, business, social enterprise, public sector body, charity, community group, NGO or individual.

Affiliated Groups

UCD Sustainability works with a series of affiliated groups to further the sustainability agenda, including Smarter Travel, Sustainable Research Initiative, Sustainable Energy Community and Healthy UCD. If you are interested in getting involved with any of these groups, please contact them directly via the links below - and thank you.

Students

There is a huge range of UCD student societies to get involved with. Those with particular relevance to sustainability include the UCD Sustainability Society (Sus Soc), the UCD Horticulture Society, the UCD Fair Fashion and the UCD One Health Society.

Collaborative Funding Opportunities

Two UCD Sustainability Seed Funding schemes were launched in March 2024 to support interdisciplinary collaboration to address sustainability challenges and to seed new sustainability initiatives.
