Ash for Future citizen science event in UCD

Monday, 7 July, 2025

Want to help rescue our beautiful native ash tree from dieback disease?

For over ten years ash dieback disease has devastated our supply of this tree used to make hurleys for our national sport and to make Queen Maeve of Connacht’s horse whip in Irish folklore.

Find out how you can contribute to saving Ireland’s native ash trees at our Ash for Future event in UCD.

Your citizen science work will feed into a Teagasc programme breeding disease tolerant trees to conserve and re-establish ash on the island of Ireland for future generations.
