UCD students in action for the Sustainable Development Goals
Tuesday, 1 April, 2025
We were delighted to see strong representation from University College Dublin at the recent Student Volunteer Ireland National Conference, held on Friday 14th March at Barretstown, Co. Kildare.
UCD students joined peers from across the country to explore how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can shape campus volunteering and student-led initiatives.
From interactive workshops on volunteer leadership and SDG engagement to keynote sessions on the circular economy and how to influence policy, students returned to campus inspired and energised.
Special highlights included real-world examples of SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing) in action.
Thanks to support from the Irish Youth Foundation, students received travel bursaries and will be awarded Digital Badges for their participation and learning.
We’re proud of our students for their leadership and commitment to sustainability - great to see the SDGs brought to life through volunteering.
