We paid a visit to UCD's giant plastic inflatable sculpture!
Wednesday, 8 October, 2025
We paid a visit to the giant plastic inflatable sculpture in University College Dublin's Newman building today to see what people are writing on it - and bumped into one of the installation organisers Ana Vera who said it has been inundated with visitors all week.
Artist Olga Diego was giving a class on Catalan culture with students inside the sculpture so we just took some footage of the outside. As well as being a sculpture about plastic pollution, the comments written on it capture social context. Previously exhibited in Spain in 2012, a lot of the Spanish comments were in response to the recession at the time.
It leaves on Friday so go see it while you can!
PS Here is a Q&A we did previously with the artist
