"We need this energy and determination" - Jeffrey Sachs video message at launch of UCD SDG Week

"Thank you to UCD. Thank you for SDG Week with over forty activities all over the campus. This is really incredible; we need this energy and determination."

So said Jeffrey Sachs, president of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network in a video shown at the launch this morning of UCD's inaugural SDG Week (September 22 - 26) in the UCD Global Lounge. He was speaking with UCD's Patrick Paul Walsh, Vice President, SDG Academy, United Nations SDSN - Sustainable Development Studies Network.

UCD Vice-President for Sustainability, Professor Tasman Crowe kicked off proceedings in a packed room with an overview of the Unit's work to date and plans for the future - thanks to everyone for coming along! - and there were interesting flash talks from some of our seed funded projects.
