They are the United Nations blueprint for a better world - and now University College Dublin will dedicate a week to highlighting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
(opens in a new window)UCD SDG Week runs from September 22 - 26 with over forty events taking place all across campus.
Whether you are new to climate issues or an experienced sustainability advocate, this vibrant programme has something for you.
There’s (opens in a new window)eco-artmaking, a (opens in a new window)2050 role-playing game and workshops on everything from identifying (opens in a new window)greenwashing to (opens in a new window)upcycling your jeans. There’s (opens in a new window)seed swapping, (opens in a new window)bird watching, (opens in a new window)crochet classes and (opens in a new window)bingo with a sustainable twist.
You can get creative by learning how to make a (opens in a new window)mini herb garden using old tins. Or if you are feeling reflective, sign up for a training session in (opens in a new window)‘radical imagination’ to envision a more sustainable future. Unleash your inner artist by attending the (opens in a new window)hybrid workshop with other international universities to co-create digital collages reinterpreting the SDGs.
You can learn about (opens in a new window)green food procurement and reducing your (opens in a new window)electricity bills or join an interactive event with the (opens in a new window)EPA about the state of Ireland’s environment. You can even learn how to make your beloved (opens in a new window)dog a bow tie using old scraps of material. All of that and much, much more.
Please spread the word to friends and family as most of the events are open to the public.
Discover how you can contribute to a more sustainable future by visiting our (opens in a new window)Eventbrite and registering for UCD SDG Week events.
We look forward to seeing you there!
