About the Centre
The UCD Centre of Adhesion and Adhesives is unique to the island of Ireland. The main activities of the centre are focused around the adhesive joints manufacturing, characterisation and modelling, aiming to predict the performance and hence to improve the design of the joints. The centre has earned strong recognition and reputation: nationally - closely involved with the Irish Composite Competence Centre based in the University of Limerick, on the European level - play active role in ESIS TC4 activities, and internationally - Adhesion Society. The centre modelling and surface engineering related activities are world leading. The centre main industrial collaborator is Henkel Ireland and university collaborator is the Adhesion and Adhesives centre from Imperial College London.
