Global Partnerships & Networks

Our commitment to the development of sustainable international partnerships is central to global engagement at UCD. These relationships provide opportunities for faculty to partner on collaborative research, for students or staff to participate on mobility programmes and for worldwide alumni to engage with each other through our network of diaspora.

Global Collaborations

Partnering with institutions and organisations across the globe enables mutually-beneficial collaborations and greater opportunities for UCD faculty and students. UCD builds and maintains a network of strategic international collaborations and provides expert support and advice to stakeholders, with the aim of identifying and prioritising opportunities that will showcase UCD’s research, teaching & learning, and engagement activities.

Partnerships in action

UCD sees partnerships and collaborations as an area of innovation. The university has both traditional partnership models as well as partnerships that break new ground. Examples of UCD’s innovative approach to collaborations include:

  • (opens in a new window)RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC) (formerly Penang Medical College), Malaysia, offers students a unique medical programme where they study in both Malaysia and Ireland. • Beijing-Dublin International College (BDIC) is a collaborative partnership, that offers dual-degree programmes in Beijing, directly overseen by UCD and Beijing University of Technology (BJUT).

  • (opens in a new window)BCL/Maîtrise Law Dual Degree Programme leads to the award of an Irish Law Qualification (BCL) and a French primary law degree (Maîtrise en Droit or Master 1), together with the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II).

Global Networks

Our international networks and collaborations offer fantastic opportunities for student and staff mobility and scholarships. Belonging to international networks of world-leading and research intensive universities also allows UCD to promote collaboration, share good practice and combine resources to enhance student learning.
