“Experience Japan” – Hanami Festival is back (April 2022)
‘Experience Japan’ (est. 2010) will be back to the Farmleigh House and Estate in Phoenix Park on the 10th of April, 2022.
The Experience Japan began in 2010 with the support from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Office of Public Works (OPW), Dublin City Council, the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, etc. and is widely regarded as the most successful intercultural festival in the Irish calendar. Approx. 25,000 people attend the annual Festival Day until the pandemic hit the world.

This project developed out of the UCD Applied Language Centre where the founding Chair, Mr Hugo O’Donnell (UCD Japan Group) is based. Current committee includes UCD Japanese Society former Auditors (Ms Jenny O'Keeffe & Mr Evan Spendlove), Mr O’Donnell (Chair), Ms Ijichi (Stage Director, UCD Centre for Japanese Studies) and Dr Naonori Kodate (UCD Centre for Japanese Studies).
