The UCD Centre for Japanese Studies (JaSt) was established in April 2020, and since then, JaSt, together with the UCD Japan Group (founded in 2016), has been proactively supporting the university to fulfil its multidisciplinary ambitions to increase and diversify its student/staff population through broader and deeper engagement with Japan and other Asian countries in critical areas of innovative research, education innovation, intercultural competence and employment. JaSt connects UCD's students, researchers and professional and academic staff with partners and key stakeholders (universities, research institutes and government bodies) in Japan, and the Japanese communities in Ireland and abroad.
This is the third Annual Report. Together with the members of the Centre, we are immensely grateful to those who have been supporting our educational and research-led mission. We also would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their dedication and contributions to the Centre.
