You probably have lots of questions, anxieties and, because you don’t have easy access to the types of guidance available to school-leavers, concerns that you might miss some vital information.
We admit hundreds of mature students every year aged from their twenties to well past retirement age and we are available to help YOU start your journey to a degree, both before and after you enter UCD.
If you are at least 23 years of age on 1 January of the year you want to enter, you can apply on grounds of mature years.
To enter in September 2017, you must have been born on or before 1 January 1994.

Come to a Mature Student Information Session
To make it easier for you to access the information you need, we offer dedicated Mature Student Information sessions as part of the UCD Open Day. We encourage you to come along and explore the UCD campus and what it has to offer. The Open Day also gives you the opportunity to talk to academic staff from different areas of study as well as staff from the Access Centre and Admissions.
UCD Open Day: Saturday 5 November 2016
UCD Mature Student Information Evening: Tuesday 10 January 2017
UCD Student Recruitment offers individual Campus Tours that can be tailored to suit whichever particular areas of study you are interested in. You will have a dedicated Student Ambassador to guide you around the campus and to answer any questions you may have. You are very welcome to stay around for a while following your tour and explore the campus in your own time. Family and/or friends are also very welcome to attend. You must book this in advance.
Investigate our Access Programmes
The UCD Access Programmes offer progression pathways to many degrees in UCD. If you have not been involved in academic study for many years, or are considering a complete change of career path, you may wish to consider on of the UCD Access Programmes which will introduce you to the area of interest and also help prepare you for university life.
