Ucard Distribution 2023

Students in Campus Residences

Students living in on-campus accommodation across Belfield and Michael Smurfit School of Business will receive their Ucards during check-in. The Residences team will be in contact with all students in advance of check in with this information.

This applies to all Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, including Study Abroad students.

Undergraduate Students

Ucard distribution for Undergraduate students will take place during Orientation Week, from the 13th-15th September 2023. Our distribution base for this year will be located in the UCD Village.

The Ucard Bureau will begin communication with incoming Undergraduates from the 5th September following the deadline for acceptance of Round 1 CAO offers, informing them of the process for receiving their UCard. This email will be sent to their UCDConnect email address and will outline the tasks that must be completed before their UCard can be printed.

The UCard Bureau will begin printing UCard for Undergraduate students in advance of their collection appointment which has been scheduled by the Schools/Colleges.  Once the UCard has been printed, the student will receive a follow-up email inviting them to come to the collection point at their scheduled time. Those that cannot be printed will be emailed to provide support, and an alternative appointment time will be provided.

Students who cannot collect at their scheduled time or miss their appointment will be emailed to provide an alternative collection time.

Postgraduate Students

Ucard distribution for Postgraduate students will take place in the UCD Village from the 11th-12th September, and from the 18th-22nd September. We will begin communicating with Postgraduate students from the 1st September, informing them of the process for receiving their UCard and the tasks to be completed before their UCard can be printed.

Once the UCard has been printed, the student will receive a follow-up email inviting them to come to the UCD Village to collect their Ucard from a certain date ie 'Your Ucard has been printed and will be available from the 11th September'.

Please note that we cannot facilitate Ucard distribution for Postgraduate students from the 13th-15th September as we will be busy with Undergraduate Orientation Week.

Some Schools/Colleges have orientation activities/introductory sessions planned for cohorts of Postgrads students before the 11th September, and have scheduled UCard collection/distribution on these dates.  If you wish to make alternative arrangements for collection/distribution/postage, please contact us and we can accommodate.

Study Abroad, Erasmus and Exchange Students
