Our PATH 5 collaboration with Ballyfermot Traveller Action Project - Bookmarks Programme

children at the PATH 5 Bookmarks event

The Bookmarks Programme aims to give children the tools to be the next generation of storytellers and artists - to tell their own stories and imagine the future. The children worked with author Síne Quinn and illustrator Karen Harte to write and illustrate their own stories. Oein DeBhairduin, Irish Traveller activist, educator, and author, launched the exhibit of the childrens' books at the Trinity Long Room Library, where they will be on display for visitors to enjoy throughout this month.

The PATH 5 Project aims to increase participation of Traveller and Roma communities in accessing Higher Education. It is a collaboration between University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Ciara McGarry Quinn is the Traveller and Roma Project Officer.
