National Creative Arts Summer School 2025 - 9-18 June, UCD Day: Bloomsday

Supported by the Department of Education and Youth, the Programme for Access to Higher Education (PATH) fund, the national (opens in a new window)Creative Arts Summer School is a collaboration between the National College of Art and Design, Trinity College Dublin, Marino Institute of Education, University College Dublin, the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences, TU Dublin School of Art & Design, MTU Crawford College of Art and Design and Atlantic Technological University Sligo and Letterkenny.

The national Creative Arts Summer School took place from 9 to 18 June. The participants were drawn from National Access Plan (NAP) target groups and had the opportunity to participate in a dynamic programme that included a range of explorative creative arts workshops, campus tours, admission pathways, creative course options, academic, financial, disability and learning support, and guidance on creative career opportunities. UCD welcomed 60 participants on campus on Bloomsday in the Newman Building’s Trapdoor Theatre. 4 workshops were offered on the day: Gamelan Music - the Percussion Orchestra of Indonesia, Classical Hollywood Narrative: Conventions in Cinematic Storytelling, Says Who? - MoLI, and Immersive Horizons: Shaping Your Digital Future, as well as an overall presentation on UCD followed by student testimonials. The participants learned about UCD, James Joyce, and the diverse creative subjects in UCD.
