The Graduate Research Board and School submissions
The GRB (Graduate Research Board) meets monthly to consider policy and strategic matters impacting graduate research students, as well as submissions from Schools for individual graduate research students. Examples of the types of admissions can be found below under GRB Submissions. The School's deadline for GRB submissions is generally a week before the GRB deadline to allow time for School approval and processing. GRB Submissions
New Graduate Research students:
For new entrants to research programmes, please complete and return the Graduate Research Application form to rachael.reenan@ucd.ie, including a copy of the applicant's passport & transcripts (if not a UCD student), and if applicable, proof they have met the English language requirements.
If a research student will be based offsite for more than one trimester please complete and return the Split Site Arrangement Form to (opens in a new window)rachael.reenan@ucd.ie when submitting the Graduate Research Application form. Additional guidance is available on the Graduate Studies website.
In cases where the student is NOT based offsite but has an external supervisor, the external supervisor in these instances needs to be set up as an Adjunct member of staff. Please send the Visiting Academic and Adjunct set up form directly to the HoS for signature cc'ing rachael.reenan@ucd.ie.
External Examiners and Exam committee:
Please complete and return the Special Extern Examiner and committee form to rachael.reenan@ucd.ie at least 3 months in advance of the student's thesis submission and 6 months beforehand if the student is submitting in September (this is to account for the ACCE summer break).

General Research Recommendations
Before sending the Recognition of Prior Learning form to a student, kindly ensure that you have liaised with a school administrator to verify that the application fulfills all necessary conditions. The student needs to complete and send the form to rachael.reenan@ucd.ie, including evidence for the request (for example, transcripts).
The Extension request form - Graduate Research form should only be used in circumstances where the student has allowed their registration to lapse, so is unable to apply online. Please complete and return this form to rachael.reenan@ucd.ie, including evidence for the extension request. All other applications should be submitted via SISweb by the student. Full details here
The Retrospective Withdrawal - Graduate Research form should only be used for retrospective withdrawals and will only be approved in cases of extenuating circumstances. Please complete and return this form to rachael.reenan@ucd.ie including evidence of the extenuating circumstances. All other withdrawal applications should be submitted via SISweb by the student. The Retrospective Leave of Absence - Graduate Research form should only be used for retrospective leave of absences and will only be approved in cases of extenuating circumstances. Please complete and return this form to rachael.reenan@ucd.ie including evidence of the extenuating circumstances. All other LoA applications should be submitted via SISweb by the student.
