Collective Minds for a Healthier World: 2025 - 2030

FOREWORD FROM THE COLLEGE PRINCIPAL

As we look toward the next five years, I am encouraged by the sense of purpose that continues to guide our College. At the UCD College of Health and Agricultural Sciences (CHAS), we share a clear ambition: to advance human, animal, and environmental wellbeing in ways that benefit society as a whole. This vision is brought to life every day by the collective strength of our people, our partners, and the facilities that support their work.

The calibre of people across CHAS is one of our greatest strengths. Their expertise is recognised far beyond UCD, with many holding influential roles on national boards, international research networks, clinical advisory groups, and global health and agriculture initiatives. These contributions ensure that the insights developed within our College actively shape policy, practice, and innovation on both national and international stages.

Our partnerships across healthcare, government, community organisations, global research centres, and industry are vital to our mission. They expand opportunities for our students, fuel research that addresses urgent societal challenges, and create pathways for delivering meaningful impact.

Guided by our seven strategic objectives, CHAS is actively shaping 2025 to 2030, aligning with the UCD Breaking Boundaries Strategy. Together, these objectives focus our work in transformative education, impactful research, global engagement, community building, infrastructure development, academic health partnerships, and ethical collaboration with external partners. It is this coordinated approach that ensures our collective efforts generate lasting benefit.

As we move forward, I am inspired by the dedication, creativity, and drive across the College. Our people, partners, and facilities are united in a shared commitment to innovation, to nurturing talent, and to delivering impact. CHAS continues to harness collective minds for a healthier world.
