UCD Welcomes the World Health Organisation

UCD Launches New Centre For One Health  

22nd February 2024

Today, University College Dublin announced the launch of a new Centre for One Health. 

The Centre is led by Director, ProfessorTony Holohan and Deputy Director ProfessorGerald Barry to promote the well-being of all species by fostering collaboration and cultivating strengths in leadership.
The Centre is dedicated to advancing research, education and collaboration on the One Health approach to solving global health challenges which recognises the interconnectedness of human, animal and planetary health.
The focus will be to pursue priorities in Research Excellence, Education and Training, Community Engagement and Outreach, Policy and Advocacy, and Building Capacity and Partnerships.
The College of Health and Agricultural Sciences is well positioned to support a One Health Approach strongly supported by our five schools and brings all of UCD’s health professionals under one banner providing an exciting opportunity to exploit synergies which exist across the One Health Spectrum.
