Commemorating Professor Geoffrey Bourke 

‌It is with deep sadness and regret that we share the passing of Professor of public health medicine and epidemiology, Geoffrey Bourke on the 25th of Sepetmber 2021. 

Professor Bourke joined University College Dublin as an associate professor in 1966 and gradually progressed to chair.

Professor Bourke was a senior faculty member of UCD and was known to generations of doctors during their undergraduate careers. This culminated in his leadership role as dean of the Faculty of Medicine. The Master of Public Health programme he developed with colleagues Berna Herity and Jacqueline Horgan will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2022. He served also on governing body and university senate.
