Times Higher Education World University Rankings

UCD remains in the 201-250 band and is ranked joint 2^nd in Ireland in the 2023 THE World University Rankings. This year 1,799 universities have been ranked.

Times Higher Education Impact Ranking

The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are an assessment of universities' performance against the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Universities can choose to participate in an assessment of their performance against some or all of the SDGs, and can be ranked accordingly. To achieve an overall ranking, a university must be assessed against progress in SDG 17. 

In 2022, UCD received an overall ranking of 101-200 in the world. The ranking by individual SDG is highlighted in the graphic below.

QS Sustainability Ranking 2023

UCD is ranked 171 - 180 in the inaugural QS Sustainability Ranking 2023. This ranking was introduced by QS in 2023 to provide a framework to show how universities are taking action to tackle the world's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) challenges. QS ranked 700 institutions globally.

This ranking consists of two separate ranks - an Environmental Impact Rank and Social Impact Rank. Each rank contains a number of performance lenses, with UCD's performance in each detailed below.

UCD was placed 301 - 400 in the 2022 Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities.
