UCD Smurfit School only Irish business school in two prestigious global rankings

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School has been included in two international business school rankings: the Economist’s Executive MBA and the Financial Times Masters in Finance.

It is the only Irish business school to feature in either ranking confirming the School’s status as Ireland’s leading centre of excellence in business education.

The Economist’s Executive MBA ranking places the UCD Smurfit School in the top 20 in Europe. This is the first Executive MBA ranking undertaken by the Economist and UCD Smurfit School is the only Irish business school to be included.

In the Financial Times Global Masters in Finance ranking, the UCD Smurfit School is placed 34th this year, up one place from last year.

“We are delighted to be recognised by two of the world’s leading independent rankings for our MSc in Finance and for our Executive MBA,” said Professor Ciarán O hÓgartaigh, Dean of Business, University College Dublin.

“These rankings recognise our position as an international leader in business education and are a tribute to the great work that our faculty and staff put into the design and execution of our courses,” he said.

“We intend to continue to build our reputation as one of the leading business schools in Europe and as the leading business school in Ireland. Rankings such as these help attract the very best faculty and students and, as a consequence, help create the excellent learning environment which our students demand and deserve.”

UCD Smurfit School is the only business school in Ireland and one of less than 60 worldwide to hold the ‘triple crown’ of accreditations from the three centres of business and academic excellence; AACSB (US), EQUIS (Europe) and AMBA (UK).

Less than 1% of the world's business schools are triple accredited. The Schools’ programmes are consistently ranked by the Economist and the Financial Times amongst the global top 100. The School is also a member of leading international business school alliances, CEMS and the Global Network for Advanced Management.
