The former UCD Ad Astra Academy Sports Scholar blazed down the track to win the men’s final in a time of 10.29.
Sean Aigboboh (Tallaght) claimed silver in 10.41, with Lorcan Murphy (DSD) taking bronze in 10.57.
“This is only the beginning. Next year is going to be even bigger, even better and even faster times, there’s a lot to look forward to,” said the two-time national champion, who won his first senior title in the 60 metres earlier this year.
“It feels great. There was a good amount of confidence coming in knowing that I just needed to run my own race and focus on what I needed to do. I hoped the title would be there at the end, and I’m delighted it was.”

Other UCD AC members to compete at the National Championships included UCD Ad Astra Academy field star Nicola Tuthill, who continued her incredible run this session.
Fresh off claiming her first medal on the world stage with a silver in the hammer at the 32nd World University Games, the 21-year-old secured her 4th senior outdoor title with her best and last attempt of 71.75m.
Both a new U23 national record and personal best for the UCD athlete, Nicola is just the second Irish woman to ever throw beyond 70 metres in the hammer.

Elsewhere at the competition UCD graduates and former UCD Ad Astra Academy Elite Sports Scholars Sarah Lavin and Mark English both celebrated their 10th national outdoor titles in the 100m hurdles and 800m respectively, cementing their legacies as two of Ireland’s most decorated track athletes.
English secured his win with a clinical performance, crossing the line in 1:48.76.
Cian McPhillips (UCD AC) pushed him closest but had to settle for second in 1:49.26.
Meanwhile Sarah Lavin (Emerald AC) extended her reign as Ireland’s dominant sprint hurdler with a winning time of 12.92 in the 100m.
The Ad Astra Elite Sports Scholarship programme at University College Dublin supports students who are competing and succeeding at the highest sporting levels. It is the University’s flagship scholarship programme.
