New UCD Research Collaborations with University of Massachusetts, Amherst Announced

Following the launch of the new 2024 Seed Funding for Strategic Research Initiatives, UCD and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst have announced four exciting new research collaborations that will foster novel, multidisciplinary collaborations between the two institutions.

The Seed Funding aims to foster novel, multidisciplinary approaches in areas of strength for both universities across three broad strategic themes: Sustainability, Empowering Societies and Communities, and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing. Following a high calibre of applications to the call, the successful researchers will visit one another’s faculty, establish new collaborations, and strengthen existing partnerships. 

UCD and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst have a strong and long-standing partnership in student mobility for over ten years.

The University of Massachusetts, Amherst is renowned for cutting-edge research aimed at eradicating diseases, addressing climate change, alleviating poverty, and developing innovative solutions to some of the world's most complex problems. 

The new research collaborations will deepen the existing strategic partnership between the two universities, leveraging complementary research strengths and mobility.
