In May and June 2025, the initial offerings of the Introduction to Space Programme Management course were delivered to those working in industry in Scotland and Ireland.
This course was facilitated by the UCD Centre for Space Research, Space Industry Skillnet and Réaltra Space systems Engineering. It joins two other existing C-Space/SIS/Réaltra courses: Doing Business with ESA and Writing Winning Proposals for ESA.
The course outlined the key aspects of managing space programmes in a European context and provided an immediately relevant understanding of the European Cooperation for Space Standards [ECSS] and how they are applied to programmes. Insights into how programme managers interact with Product and Quality Assurance, Contracts, Engineering, Space Law and Business Development in space projects were also provided.
The Course is targeted at programme managers, who are new or recently involved in space programmes and managers, engineers and executives who want to gain an overview of the key aspects of managing space programmes.
All three courses: 1) Introduction to Space Programme Management, 2) Doing Business with ESA and 3) Writing Winning Proposals for ESA will run again in the autumn, with the new possibility of gaining academic microcredentials from UCD.
