About the Awards

The UCD President’s Awards recognise exceptional students who make a meaningful difference to University life. The Awards celebrate:

  • Impact
  • Innovation
  • Leadership
  • Service
  • Collaboration

These awards acknowledge voluntary contributions that go above and beyond normal expectations, enhancing both the student experience and the wider University community.

All registered UCD students are eligible. Achievements must be voluntary, unrelated to paid duties, and demonstrate meaningful impact. Joint nominations (up to three students) are permitted where the contribution was clearly collective.

Students in paid roles (e.g., Ambassadors, RAs, etc ) may be nominated only if the contribution is entirely separate from their paid responsibilities. Sabbatical Officers are not eligible.

Nominations must be submitted by a third party (students cannot nominate themselves) who is either a registered student or a member of UCD staff. Submissions should be a maximum of 200 words and include example-based evidence of contribution and impact. The selection panel may contact nominators or relevant staff to verify details.

Coordinated campaigning or solicitation of nominations (“canvassing”) is not permitted and may result in disqualification.

  • Nominations Open: 1 December 2025

  • Nominations Close: 31 January 2026

  • February 2026: Review, assessment, and preparation of recommendations. Late submissions cannot be considered.

  • March 2026: Awards Ceremony takes place.
