Cairde Dublin

Cairde Dublin

Cairde Dublin is a volunteer-led Community Sponsorship Group (CSG) based at University College Dublin (UCD), dedicated to supporting refugee students in accessing higher education. Now in its second year, the group has grown to over 16 active committee members, working together to ensure that students arriving in Ireland through Education Pathways feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to
succeed.

By partnering with Nasc, the Migrant & Refugee Rights Centre, and UNHCR Ireland, we help refugee students integrate into university life, access essential resources, and build meaningful connections. Through fundraising, mentorship, and advocacy, we ensure that students not only gain access to education but also have the support they need to thrive. Through Community Sponsorship, Cairde Dublin has successfully supported two refugee students at UCD, providing practical and financial assistance to help them settle into their new academic journey. Our goal is to expand these efforts, proving that local action can create lasting change for displaced students.
