Volunteering is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community, the environment or individuals outside one's immediate family. It is undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain. There are a wide range of volunteering opportunities for students on campus in UCD. With such a large range of clubs and societies, there's something to suit everyone! If you would like to be more involved in community-based volunteering and work with the UCD in the Community team, check out studentvolunteer.ie
Studentvolunteer.ie is an online tool that supports students wishing to volunteer in their communities. It is a national volunteering database specifically created for higher education students.
Students simply register online by entering their contact details. From there you can browse and apply for volunteering opportunities based on your needs, interests and/or location! UCD students can access the site here.
Studentvolunteer.ie is a useful resource, which allows you to
- Browse opportunities
- Apply for once-off and long-term opportunities
- Track your volunteering hours
- Receive updates on any opportunities that might be of interest to you
- Connect with local, national and international community based organisations
Check out the video below on how to get involved in volunteering on and off campus!
