Vision
A major objective for University College Dublin is to contribute to the social, economic and cultural objectives of a knowledge society.
In this regard UCD is committed to becoming a leading European research-intensive university and the university’s research base is increasingly seen as a national resource which must generate many of the innovative ideas and new ventures necessary for the development of a world-class ecosystem for innovation that will drive enterprise development and the creation of sustainable high-value jobs.
Specifically UCD's innovation strategy has three main objectives:
- To maximise the impact of UCD's knowledge and expertise
- To foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship at 3rd and 4th levels
- To build the critical social and corporate partnerships for a knowledge economy.
NovaUCD’s vision is therefore to become an international leader in the commercialisation of research and other knowledge-intensive activity for the benefit of the economy and society.
