Two NovaUCD Client Companies Reach Seedcorn Regional Finals

Two NovaUCD client companies, Tethras and Working Analytics have been shortlisted for the regional finals of the InterTradeIreland 2011 All-island Seedcorn Business Competition.  

Tethras provides a complete localization services for mobile app developers. The online, automated service is integrated directly into development workflow and provides a fast, uncomplicated solution at significantly reduced cost. With a full multi-region community of translation experts in over 40 languages, developers can now reach global markets with ease using Tethras’ technology.  The company, which has recently opened an office in Silicon Valley, was established in 2010 by Brian Farrell and Brendan Clavin.

Working Analytics provides the best of career coaching content with a career decision making framework as an online software service. The solution provides employees/ individuals with a framework to reflect on strengths, explore opportunities, develop a career plan and achieve career success. The company was established in 2010 by Kevin Sorohan, Gerard Cunningham and John Costello. 

This InterTradeIreland competition for start-up and early-stage businesses seeking equity funding has a total prize fund of €280,000 on offer for the most promising high-growth and emerging companies in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Organised by the InterTradeIreland Equity Network, this annual competition is designed to encourage the creation and development of emerging and high-growth business ventures throughout Ireland and to reward the effort and achievement of the individuals involved.

The competition is aimed at businesses at the seed, start-up and early stages of operation that are seeking equity investment to accelerate the development of their enterprise.

During November the regional finalists will make a short investment pitch to a panel of judges which will followed by a Q&A session. Eight companies will then be selected go forward to the final stage of the competition on 30 November when the finalists again make their pitch but to a separate panel of judges and the winners are selected.
