Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) event

Mental Health First Aid is the initial help given to someone who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until appropriate professional support is received or until the crises resolves.
Donal Scanlan, the Mental Health First Aid Ireland Manager has been working and studying as a professional in the area of mental health and well-being for nearly 20 years.Donal talked about Mental Health First Aid, what it is, and its use in the public arena, workplaces and the future for MHFA Youth and Teen programmes.
Anna Scully UCD Student Adviser for all SPHPSS students, organised this event to mark World Mental Health Day and it is part of UCD Mental Health Awareness Week
