Student Leader Programme

In the UCD College of Science we have been running a Student Leader programme since 2013/14. This programme allows current students to work casual, part-time hours at events aimed at Prospective Students such as UCD Open Day, UCD Summer School, UCD Graduate Open Day and other information evenings and events. More information about upcoming events can be found on our Event Calendar

Role Description
The Student Leader Programme is aimed at Science, Sustainability, Computer Science and Actuarial & Financial Studies students who share a passion for their studies and want to share their knowledge and experience to encourage people to consider higher education.

This is a casual, part-time position. There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours and similarly there is no requirement to work a set number of hours over the year. Students will receive an email alerting them to an upcoming event where they will have the chance to sign up.

The work with as a Science Student Leader is always secondary to your studies and any other commitments. Typically students work on average of 3-4 events across the academic year.

In the past students have found this an exciting and rewarding experience, which provides opportunities for personal growth and professional development. It is also another way to meet fellow students from different degree subjects and stages. We are proud of our current and past Science Student Leaders.

All Science Student Leaders must attend required training before they undertake the role. All activities at which Science Student Leaders work are supported and managed by the UCD College of Science Outreach, Marketing & Student Recruitment team.
