UCD Teaching & Learning has a wealth of information for teaching colleagues including practical and evidence-based resources to support teaching on topics such as intercultural learning and technology enhanced learning support. Find out more on their website.

Visit UCD EDI for information on a wide variety of policies and supports for staff and students.

One such resource is the EDI in HE eLearning programme which is an interactive tailored online resource that aims to provide UCD employees with an awareness of key equality and diversity topics in a University context, and will complement future EDI awareness raising programmes, events and initiatives. This interactive resource will enable employees to consider and reflect on the part they play in building an inclusive culture in UCD.

AHEAD have developed (opens in a new window)ARK - a new home for digital accessibility resources and know-how in tertiary education. (opens in a new window)ARK provides practical resources and know-how to support a range of institutional staff to be more accessible in their roles, and supports colleges and centres to consider a whole institution approach to digital accessibility, meet their legal obligations, boost accessibility compliance, and provide a better digital experience for all. ARK has:

  • A range of free role-based short courses for educators, administrative, senior and technical staff, which can be taken direct with AHEAD, or used in internal CPD systems under a creative commons license.

  • An introduction to key web accessibility legislation for further and higher education institutions and a legal FAQ on what the web accessibility directive means in practice.

  • Links to lots of other valuable AHEAD and external resources to continue your accessibility journey that you can find below.

The University for All Project team is currently developing a short online module for all staff entitled 'Introduction to Universal Design in UCD'. This module will introduce staff to University for All, Universal Design and the compliance aspect governing inclusion.

The project team is working in partnership with AHEAD and the National Forum for Teaching & Learning to develop a Digital Badge in Universal Design for Student Supports & Engagement. This training will be applicable to all student support professionals within the HE and FE sectors.
