University College Dublin, Ireland

University College Dublin (UCD) is the project coordinator and the leader of work package 2. At UCD, a team of interdisciplinary scientists and engineers are working on the cultivation and biorefinery processing of microalgae to reach the highest biomass and omega-3 oil yields. To reach this goal, several upstream and downstream processes are being improved in both the lab-and mid-scales.

Bilecik Şeyh Edebali University, Turkey

Bilecik The university aims to educate students so they can produce research, knowledge, technology, social and artistic value and develop the skill to apply what they have produced to real life and in this way become individuals who can shape the future. There are various national and international projects carried out at Bilecik Seyh Edebali University. Bilecik University will lead WP5 in AlgaeBrew.

Mohammed V University of Rabat, Morocco

Mohammad V University founded in 1962 is the oldest public health institute in Morocco. The University has been standing out for its high level of research activity, having international distinctions, and attracting competitive research programs at the national and international levels. As for research, the University is a national leader in terms of scientific production with three accredited research centers, three research laboratories, and about twenty research teams. Mohammad V University will contribute to WP1 and WP2 in AlgaeBrew.

University of Camerino, Italy

University of Camerino (UNICAM) is a ‘City Campus University’ chartered in 1336 and one of the most ancient and dynamic universities in Italy located in the "hearth" of the central  (Umbria-Marche) Apennines mountain ranges. The university has 4 campuses (Camerino, Ascoli Piceno, Matelica, San Benedetto del Tronto), and 5 academic Schools in Architecture and Design, Biosciences and Veterinary Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology.  UNICAM is the national contact point for the Italian Euraxess portal for the mobility of researchers and one of the four Italian Universities to obtain the prestigious European acknowledgment “HR excellence in research”. UNICAM boasts of building structures and equipment in continual development: teaching and scientific libraries and a large number of research laboratories, student services, and facilities. The University of Camerino acts as WP4 leader in AlgaeBrew.

National School of Agriculture in Meknes, Morocco

The Moroccan School of Agriculture (National School of Agriculture in Meknes (ENA) founded in 1942 is the oldest agronomic and food sciences higher education institution in Morocco. Since its founding, it has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of Moroccan agriculture and agro-food sector through training future agricultural engineers with specific skills and knowledge in diverse areas of modern agriculture and food sciences: environmental science, agricultural engineering, food processing engineering, food by-products valorisation, agribusiness and marketing, and rural development engineering.

Swansea University

Swansea University has been producing world-class research since 1920. They have a long history of working with business and industry but today their research has a much wider impact, reaching across the health, wealth, culture, and well-being of a global society. Swansea University has achieved an extraordinary level of success in recent years with its research activity exceeding that of many larger universities. This, though, has not compromised the friendly and relaxed atmosphere that has always characterised the “Swansea experience”. 

LSAqua, Belgium

LSAqua is a young company that is developing sustainable alternatives to replace fishmeal from aquafeed diets by blending protein sources such as Single Cell Proteins, Processed Animal proteins, or vegetable proteins, where often the formula is adapted to customers’ needs. LSAqua pursues innovative and sustainable solutions with a clear commitment to social responsibility and safety.  LSAqua is AlgaeBrew’s WP3 leader.
