Useful Information

To make your stay in Dublin as smooth as possible, below is all the information you need.

1. Accommodation
Student accommodation on campus
We recommend that if possible, you stay on campus. You'd need to contact UCD accommodation, (opens in a new window)stay.ucd.ie, to make a reservation as soon as possible. If you cannot reserve a room here, we have compiled below a list of alternative hotels that have relatively easy access to the UCD campus.

2. Transportation
There are several bus routes connecting Dublin airport to various parts of Dublin city. Find more information (opens in a new window)here.

3. Venue Details
The event will take place in our Student Centre in the Red Room and you'll find that on this map.

4. Conference Programme
The event commences on Thursday 13th June at 1pm. A sandwich lunch will be served from 12.30. The full conference programme can be viewed below:

5. Oral and Poster Presentations
Oral Presentations
Please use PowerPoint and the 16:9 slide size for your presentation. We will have a laptop
available for the presentations. The young scientists’ presentations should last 15 min with an additional 5 min for questions. Please do not exceed your allocated time slot. The introductory lectures to the sessions presented by the senior scientists last 25 min with 5 min for questions.

Poster Presentations
If you are presenting a poster, please note that the poster boards are 1m wide x 2.25m tall. Your poster may be any size as long as it fits these dimensions (note that A0 landscape posters will not fit the boards). Please bring your poster with you to the event on the Thursday, and you can put it up as soon as you arrive. The posters and poster boards are not numbered, you can choose on a first come first served basis.

Prizes
At the end of the event, a prize for the best oral presentation and best poster presentation will be awarded.

6. Symposium Dinner
On the evening of Thursday 13th June, all participants will be transported to an Irish dinner and music event. We'll be organising a bus to go directly from campus once the hard work is done for the day! The bus will go back to UCD campus when the event is over. We look forward to seeing you all, there is no need to register separately for the dinner.

Dietary requirements
We will ensure there are some vegetarian/vegan options for lunch and dinner. If you have other dietary requirements, please email Fiona Lalor: (opens in a new window)fiona.lalor@ucd.ie.

7. Photographs and Social Media
We will take a group picture and other photos/short videos during the event and some of you will be invited for a voluntary short interview. These will be posted on our website and socials. If you object to having your photo taken, please let us know at the start of the event. We encourage you to post about the event through your own channels too using
#foodfraudunmasked2024.
