About GDIC

Guangzhou Dublin International College of Life Sciences & Technology

Guangzhou Dublin International College of Life Sciences & Technology (GDIC), founded in 2020, is a joint international college established in collaboration between, and governed by, University College Dublin (UCD) South China Agricultural University (SCAU). It is located on the SCAU campus, in the sprawling port city of Guangzhou (the “City of Flowers” in southern China and an important trade centre). GDIC’s focus is on Life Science & Technology in the context of the agriculture and food science environments. The following degree programmes are offered:

With all core modules delivered in English, the majority by UCD lecturers who travel to GDIC to teach,  GDIC provides a world-class international educational experience that equips its multilingual graduates with the talents to thrive in an increasingly globalised and technology connected society.

Student intake is 180 per annum and all programmes involve 4 years of full time study structured around an international educational model. All students enjoy the opportunity of short or long stay study periods in Dublin as well as exposure to Irish cultural events organised on campus at SCAU. On successful completion of their studies students are awarded degrees by UCD and SCAU.

South China Agricultural University (SCAU)

South China Agricultural University (SCAU) is a national key university and a “211 project” university co-sponsored by Guangdong Province and Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Covering a total campus area of 546.6 hectares, SCAU is known as one of the ten most beautiful campuses in China. As an comprehensive university with a highlight in agricultural sciences and life sciences, SCAU strives to become a top agricultural university in China with global reputation.

SCAU offers 99 undergraduate programs, 145 master programs, 62 doctoral programs, and 11 post-doctoral research stations. SCAU has 6 national key disciplines and 24 key disciplines at the ministerial and provincial level. There are 25 colleges (departments), comprising more than 38,000 undergraduates and 8,000 graduates, including 200+ international students. With an exploring spirit and global vision SCAU actively explores innovative talent training models, of which GDIC is one, to cultivate first-class talent.
