Work-Life Balance Policy-Making in Ireland – Roundtable Discussion

We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming roundtable event, sponsored by UCD’s Geary Institute of Public Policy, titled “Work-Life Balance Policy-Making in Ireland.

The event will take place on TuesdayOctober 15th from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM at the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI).

The purpose of the roundtable is to foster a meaningful dialogue on Ireland’s implementation of the EU Work-Life Balance Directive (WLBD), exploring it through the lens of Irish history, culture, and the politics of gender and caregiving. The event will open with a brief presentation of a policy report on Ireland's compliance with the EU WLBD, followed by a panel discussion.

The panel will feature Pauline Cullen (Associate Professor of Sociology, Maynooth University), Alice-Mary Higgins (Senator, Seanad Éireann), Laura Bambrick (Head of Social Policy & Employment Affairs, ICTU), and Donal Swan (Women's Economic Equality Co-Ordinator, NWC).
