Architectural Scope consists of the assets that are impacted by an IT project.
Identifying the Architectural Scope provides clarity, alignment, and control over architectural work, and is an ”Initiating” requirement for all proposed Headline IT Projects - the Solution Owner/Project Manager must contact the EA Team to review and agree the Architectural Scope.
The Assets we capture;
1. Applications |
Which applications will be directly impacted by the project, including those that are being removed, introduced, or significantly changed. |
2. Business Capabilities |
What business capabilities does the project directly impact? See Higher Education Reference Models |
3. Technical Components |
Are there changes to the underpinning technology products of the Applications involved? |
4. Information Flows |
What Information Flows (data integrations to other applications) will change as part of this work? |
5. Organisations |
Which Units and Schools will be directly impacted? |
