EA & PMO Alignment
Enterprise Architecture (EA) is fully integrated into the IT Project Management Office (PMO) gating process through a dedicated Enterprise Architecture strand - providing governance controls, standards, and guidance.
IT Project Managers should be thoroughly familiar with the (opens in a new window)IT Project Management Checklist (login required) and make a point to check EA requirements during every PM2 phase.
It is important that these guidelines are followed to ensure every application planned or active use is captured, its dependencies and impacts understood, mapping to the IT System Portfolio, captured and recorded within the Enterprise Architecture (EA) repository.
The Enterprise Architecture requirements for each PM2 phase are summarised here;
| Pre-Project |
Initiating Phase |
Planning Phase |
Executing Phase |
Closing Phase |
| All proposed initiatives and IT systems must align to EA Principles The Enterprise Architecture Alignment Checklist is used to evidence alignment with EA Principles (it should be updated regularly during the project to evidence continued alignment) |
