Getting Around

Dublin is well served by a public bus network as well as two light rail services, the LUAS and the DART. Google Maps is a reliable way to plan routes around the city and subarbs.

The best way to pay for public transport is using a Leap Card, which can be purchased in the UCD Student Union shop, as well as many other locations around the city. Please note that busses only accept the exact fare in coins, and will not provide change, so definitely best to use a Leap Card.

UCD is well connected by bus. There’s a bus stop right next to the UCD accommodation and has buses that go to Dublin City Centre every 5 minutes.

There is a late night service, but be mindful that buses aren’t as frequent in the evenings.

Taxis can be hailed on the street or booked (much better method) using the Free Now app.
