Collaboration renewed until 2024


 

The UCD2 Transatlantic One Health Alliance has been renewed for a further 2 years, with a commitment from Zoetis Inc. to fund a third round of research collaborations between UCD and University of California, Davis.

UC Davis is home to the world's premier school of Veterinary Medicine. Its One Health Institute hosts a number of projects and programmes that reach all across the globe, including One Health Workforce - Next Generation and PREEMPTZoetis is the largest animal health company in the world and is a vocal and committed supporter of One Health. 

The partnership between Zoetis, UCD and UC Davis was formed in 2018 and aims to create a world-leading One Health Alliance delivering innovative and outstanding research to address global needs and challenges. Zoetis has already supported the Alliance through two previous rounds of funding, resulting in 5 collaborative research projects. Four of these projects, which focus on antimicrobial resistance, bovine vaccines, zoonotic disease and food safety, are now complete, with a fifth project on Equine One Health due to be completed in March 2022.

A call for applications for funding under Round 3 of the UCD2 Transatlantic One Health Alliance is expected to be announced in October 2022.
