Registry Advisory Group

UCD Registry is committed to supporting professional staff and faculty across Schools and Colleges in navigating the many processes and services related to the student lifecycle that fall under the Registry's remit. With a wide range of operational functions spanning Admissions, Assessment, Student Registration, Fees, Data Operations, Customer and Curriculum Operations, Conferring, Student Record maintenance, and Student Recruitment, we understand that it can sometimes be unclear where to direct queries or seek guidance.

To simplify this, we are introducing the Registry Advisory Group—a new mechanism that connects you with the right Registry experts for the support and advice you need.

What is the Registry Advisory Group?

The Registry Advisory Group provides a central point for submitting queries about Registry services and operations. Instead of trying to figure out which unit to contact, simply submit your query through the Registry Staff Connector. We’ll direct it to the most relevant team.

This service is ideal for queries that require:

  • Guidance on complex operational matters – such as policy changes, major process updates, or system enhancements.
  • Support for new or evolving projects – seek support at an early stage for projects impacting student administration or involving cross-team collaboration.
  • Strategic input and planning – including aligning student lifecycle processes with institutional priorities.
  • Programme planning and development – to ensure smooth administrative setup for new or modified academic programmes.
  • Problem-solving and complex query management – addressing issues that involve multiple Registry areas or require forward-thinking solutions.
  • Clarification of procedures and best practices – for improved understanding of key administrative tasks.
  • Risk identification and mitigation – helping to spot and address potential challenges early.

For general information or routine queries, please consult the Registry website, FAQs, or available training resources.

To help you decide if the Registry Advisory Group is the right support option for your query, here are some examples:

  • Identifying Risks: Understanding potential risks in policy or process changes and seeking guidance on mitigating challenges.
  • Strategic Thinking: Seeking early advice on aligning student processes with broader institutional goals.
  • Solution-Based Advice: Addressing recurring administrative or operational challenges with practical recommendations.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipating upcoming challenges in Registry-related processes and developing effective responses.
  • Managing Complex Queries: Navigating issues involving multiple Registry functions.
  • Programme Planning: Ensuring smooth administration for new or evolving academic programmes.

If your query aligns with these types of scenarios, the Registry Advisory Group is here to assist.

  • Efficiency – Save time by submitting a single query without needing to determine the correct contact point.
  • Expert Guidance – Ensure your query is handled by the most appropriate Registry unit.
  • Strategic Support – Receive tailored advice for implementing new initiatives, policies, addressing challenges, and optimising workflows.
  • Collaboration – Work in partnership with Registry in a structured way to improve student services.

We aim to review all queries and connect you with the right Registry unit as quickly as possible. You can usually expect an initial response within 3 working days, depending on the complexity of the request.

For urgent matters (e.g., system outages, student-specific emergencies), please contact  the relevant Registry team directly.

Visit the Registry Staff Connector and fill out a short form outlining your query. Our team will review it and connect you with the right Registry colleagues for support.
