UCD is addressing society's most pressing challenges through its diverse range of research and innovation activities, particularly through interdisciplinary partnerships that foster new approaches to finding new solutions. 

The University has an impressive record of leadership and achievement aligned with our strategic themes, and now aims to advance the research under each in a unified manner over the course of the next strategic cycle. 

To achieve this, we will seek out and develop partnerships that enable excellent research and innovation and that can deliver breakthrough Impact. This will include increased emphasis on international partnerships, with a special focus on addressing the key challenges of Horizon Europe. 

National Strategic Partnerships

UCD has a long track record of delivering world-class research and innovation through partnership, and belongs to many national strategic partnership programmes which seek to address a range of major health, environmental and industry challenges. Enterprise Partnerships

UCD has many successful partnerships with industry and the wider third-level sector and continues to seek out opportunities for creative collaborations to carry basic research through to real-word innovation. See below for selected Enterprise partnerships: 

European Partnerships

UCD has a broad collaborative network across the EU and participates and leads on major Horizon 2020 projects, including prestigious programmes under Marie Curie Sklodowska Actions, the Innovative Medicines Initiative and the European Research Council. UCD actively seeks out and develops partnerships that enable excellent research and innovation. We encourage and support collaboration with international research leaders, both institutionally and at the level of individual researchers and research groups.
